Configuring the program for electronic transmission
If you want certain EFILE information items to apply to all of your prepared client files, complete the EFILE tab in the selected preparer profile. To learn how to create or modify a preparer profile, consult the help topic "About Preparer Profiles".
To enter the information supplied
by the CRA, RQ
- On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
- Under Electronic Services, click Identification.
- To
use the EFILE Web services, click Federal, then enter the information
provided by the CRA.
If you want to use the NetFile Québec service, click Québec, then enter the information provided by RQ.
If you want to use the EFILE On-Demand functionality or the data import with integration to CCH Scan, click Taxprep Services, then enter the information required. - Click OK.
- Go to the Taxprep Web site (www.taxprep.com).
- Click Download!, then enter your credentials in the "My Taxprep" section.
Once loading of the profile is completed, the Files Centre page displays. - Click CCH Electronic Services, then Account Information
in the "Profile" section.
Your account number and password are displayed.
You can define some settings for the database and transmission files. For example, you can select message display when the database and transmission files location is not available, as well as define a different location from the one set during installation.
- On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
- Under Electronic Services, click General.
- In the Location area, click to select the location.
- Click OK twice.
To display a message at startup to indicate that the database and transmission files location is not available, proceed as follows:
- On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
- Under Electronic Services, click General.
- In the Location area, select the Prompt when the database is not available check box.
- Click OK.
To change one or more Internet addresses used during transmission eligible documents, proceed as follows:
- On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
- Under Electronic Services, click Internet Addresses.
- Click the Internet address that you want to change, then in the Address box, enter the new address that was provided to you. The symbol will be displayed in the upper right corner of the field to indicate that the address was changed.
- Click OK.
