Attached Notes and Schedules
Attached notes and schedules are part of the revision tools provided by Corporate Taxprep. They allow you to include additional information about a value in a cell and to clarify any unconventional data.
You can create attached notes (textual notes) and attached schedules (schedules with posted total value).
Attached notes
This type of note allows you to attach only textual information in a cell; there are no columns in which amounts are entered and no data is posted to the cell to which the note is attached. These notes may be attached to all types of cells and it is possible to keep them when rolling forward the client file by selecting both the Keep this note when rolling forward the file check box, in the Note dialog box and the box Keep the notes attached to cells, located under Options and Settings/Roll Forward/Data Options.
Attached Notes - Summary
You can view all notes attached to a return in Form Attached Notes - Summary (Jump Code: ATTN). Each time you attach a note to a cell, a new section is added to that form. For each of the notes, the cell name as well as the title and the description of the applicable form are mentioned. In addition, the name of the author of the note as well as the date on which the note has been added are displayed at the bottom of the description. This information will be kept during roll forward if the Keep this note when rolling forward the file check box is selected.
Attached notes are listed based on the order they are created, but can be sorted based on the order the forms appear in the Form Manager.

Attached schedules
You can attach a schedule to a numerical cell to support the data in this cell. This is useful when you want to provide more detailed information than what is allowed in the cell or when explaining an unusual amount. You can also use this schedule to create a questionnaire or a checklist to interview your clients.
The attached schedule (Jump Code: ATTS) is a multiple copy form. Each time you attach a schedule to a cell, a new copy (schedule) is added to the form and linked to this cell. It is also possible to add copies to the form that are not linked to any cells.
|
The attached schedules are multiple copy forms. You can navigate between different copies of existing attached schedules, delete copies or create new ones. |
|
The name of the cell to which the schedule is attached is displayed here. |
|
The total is calculated and posted to the cell to which the schedule is attached. |

You can select mathematical operations in the list. Note that the calculations are done one at a time, from the first to the last line, and not according to the priority rules of the operations (for example, the formula 1+2*3 will not result in the same thing as the formula 1+3*2). |
