Eligible Bank Accounts
The account identified has to hold Canadian funds at a financial institution in Canada.
The branch number, institution number and account number can be found at the bottom of the personalized cheque:
- The first number shown (normally 3 digits) is the cheque number: ignore this.
- The second number shown (5-digits) is the branch number;
- The third number shown (3-digits) is the institution number*; and
- The last number shown is the account number (include the validating number).
* The institution number can be selected from the pick list provided.
The Use the spouse’s banking information check box allows you to transfer the banking information from one spouse to the other. If you select this box, the information already entered for the spouse will be used on page 4 of the active return.
Roll Forward
The bank information entered on this form will be kept by the program except if you have cancelled the direct deposit request.
