Recalculate Data
Taxprep Forms allows you to recalculate the data in the active client file or a group of client files from the Client Manager.
This feature is very useful if you make a change in the preparer profile; this way you can avoid opening the client files one by one to recalculate them.
The following client files cannot be recalculated from the Client Manager:
- Password-protected client files;
- Client files opened by you (when opened in the Client Manager) or by another user; and
- Client files for which you do not have the necessary write access to change the data.
How to recalculate data in the active client file
- To recalculate the data in the active client file from the Forms view, click Recalculate on the Tools menu.
How to recalculate several client files
To recalculate the data in several client files, proceed as follows:
- Display the Client Manager.
- Select the client files for which you want to recalculate the tax data. If necessary, use the available filters to reduce the length of the list appearing in the table.
- On the Tools menu, click Recalculate Selected Client Files.
- Click Yes to confirm.
Note: Taxprep Forms will display a log after the operation is completed. Taxprep Forms will inform you if data recalculation was successful for each client file
or not. If you want to print the log for reference purposes, click Print.
