Print Bar Codes for the Québec Tax Returns

As per RQ's request, the bar codes (A two dimensional bar code is a unique group of parallel lines that stores all of the information contained in a return.) of a CO-17 return must be printed each time the printing of a  CO-17 return is launched, which will allow to speed up the processing of the Québec returns.

A return can contain between 1 to 30 bar codes that will be grouped in Form COR-17.U , Corporation Income Tax Return Data. Form COR-17.U will print automatically if no restrictions apply to the printing.  Form COR-17.U contains, in two-dimensional bar codes format, data from the following forms:

  • Corporation Income Tax Return (CO-17);
  • Information and Income Tax Return for Non-Profit Corporations (CO-17.SP);
  • Calculation of Paid-Up Capital (CO-1136);
  • Net Income for Income Tax Purposes (CO-17.A.1);
  • Application by a Corporation to Carry Back a Loss (CO-1012);
  • Calculation of the Paid-Up Capital of a Financial Institution (CO-1140);
  • Insurance Corporations – Calculation of premiums payable, taxable premiums and tax on capital respecting marine insurance (CO-1167);
  • Tax Credit for Investment (CO-1029.8.36.IN);
  • Calculation of the Income Tax of a Corporation (CO-771);
  • Patronage Dividend Deduction (CO-786);
  • Paid-up Capital to Be Used for Purposes Other Than the Calculation of the Tax on Capital (CO-1140.A);
