Printing in French Required for the CO-17 Return
Revenu Québec (RQ) now requires that the CO-17, Corporation Income Tax Return (Jump Code: QJ), be filed in French only.
Printing of the CO-17 in English will still be possible, but this should only be done for personal use. If the return is printed in English a watermark indicating "SPECIMEN" will appear on all of the pages and schedules of the return. In addition, a banner page will explain the RQ requirements for filing CO-17 returns and the presence of the watermark.
Set the CO-17 return to print in French or in English
The print formats provided with Corporate Taxprep prints the CO-17 return in the language of correspondence except for the "Govt RSI, Bar Codes - RDA, code à barres" print format, which always prints the CO-17 return in French. Furthermore, you cannot modify the print language for the CO-17 return defined in the predefined print formats.
To modify the print language for the CO-17 return for a corporation, you can proceed as follows:
- For a permanent change, create or modify a customized print format, then set the properties.
- For a temporary change responding to a specific need, modify the language during printing jobs for returns from the Client Manager or the Form Manager.
