Active Return Properties
The active return properties are displayed under four tabs: General, Attached Files, Security and CCH Engagement.
The General tab contains the following information:
- corporation's name;
- business number;
- return status;
- EFILE status;
- preparer’s notes ;
- whether or not data is locked ; and
- whether or not the return is password-protected .
The Security tab contains the following information:
- password for client file protection;
- check box allowing for transmission if password unknown.
CCH Engagement Tab
When the active return is not linked to a CCH Engagement trial balance, the CCH Engagement tab does not contain any information.
When the active return is linked to a CCH Engagement trial balance, the CCH Engagement tab contains the following information:
- active return’s name;
- client and trial balance information;
- link status to the trial balance.
Note: If you do not have the CCH Engagement program, the CCH Engagement tab will not be displayed in the active return properties.
To display the active return properties, proceed in the following manner:
- On the File menu, click Properties.
- Press F11.
- Display the properties pane in the Client Manager.
Corporate Taxprep can automatically display return properties before saving client file data; this prompts you to modify the different return statuses throughout return processing.
To display properties before saving, proceed as follows:
- On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
- Under Options, click Tax Returns.
- In the File save options area, select the Show file properties before saving check box.
- Click OK.
