During the transmission of a corporation’s returns by Internet (T2 EFILE),
the GIFI information with the notes relating to the financial statements,
will be included in the transmission.
The transmission of a return might not be allowed by Corporate Taxprep if its size exceeds the limit authorized by the CRA. In that case, the size of the return to transmit can be reduced by clearing
the transmission of notes to the financial statements.
To prevent transmission of
notes to the financial statements of the active return, proceed as follows:
- Display Form Notes to financial statements
(Jump Code: NOTES).
- Select
the Do not transmit electronically box.
Notes:
- The transmission of the return without the notes
to the financial statements might not be allowed if the size of the return to transmit still
exceeds the limit authorized set by the CRA.
- Where you are not transmitting notes relating to the financial
statements with the return, you are required to send a hard copy to the CRA.

How to re-Transmit returns
Once the error has been corrected and the EFILE status changes to "Eligible,"
you can re-transmit the return using the same procedure that you used
for the original transmission.
Notes:
- Only documents with an "Eligible"
EFILE
status
can be transmitted.
- Where Forms RC59 (consent) and RC59X (revocation) of a corporation are selected for electronic transmission purposes, Corporate Taxprep will first transmit Form RC59X before transmitting Form RC59, as the regular process is to first cancel all previously granted authorizations and then, request a new authorization.
- Before transmitting a
return to the CRA, ensure that you have a copy of the T183 form signed by the client, authorizing you to transmit the return electronically.
- Although it is only possible to transmit one return at a time, you can select several returns to transmit from the Client Manager; Corporate Taxprep will transmit them one at a time to the CRA and RQ Web site.
- Before filing returns to Clic Revenu, make sure that you have a copy of the MR-69 form duly signed by your client authorizing you to transmit the corporation's return electronically.
- Before filing returns to NetFile Québec, make sure that you have a copy of the CO-1000.TE form duly signed by your client authorizing you to transmit the corporation's return electronically.
