Print the Xpress List
There are two ways to print the list generated by Xpress:
- when Xpress is displayed, you can print the list containing data from the active return; and
- using a print format, you can print the Xpress list for each selected client file at the same time.
Personal Taxprep allows you to print the content of this list in a document (available in PDF or paper format) which includes the column headings and to modify some print settings.
How to print the Xpress list from the active return in PDF or paper format
To print the Xpress list from the active return, proceed as follows:
- Show Xpress.
- Right-click and click Print Xpress.
- If you want to print the Xpress list in PDF format, select the Print to a PDF file check box.
- Click OK.
If the print job is sent to a PDF file, select the folder and the file name where you want the PDF file to be saved and click OK. If the default location provided by Personal Taxprep is not suitable, you can change it.
Note: The list will
be printed as it is displayed. However, if you have grouped the cells
by form and hidden some rows, all of the rows will be printed. Furthermore,
only the displayed columns will be printed.
How to print the Xpress list with a print format
To print the Xpress list with a print format, proceed as follows:
- Consult the About Print Formats page to learn how to create or to edit a print format.
- In the list of forms, select the Xpress filter (the jump code of these forms begins with “X”.) generating the list that you want to print, then define the "Print when?" setting as Always.
Tip: The "X1
- Current Xpress Filter" filter available in the list of forms in
the Print Formats view allows
you to use a customized Xpress filter to print the Xpress list with a
print format. To do this, select the customized Xpress filter in Xpress,
then define the "Print when?" setting of the "X1 - Current
Xpress Filter" filter as Always.
- Print the client files with this print format.
How to modify the Xpress list print settings
You can customize the way the Xpress list is printed by modifying the font size and the paper orientation.
To modify these settings, proceed as follows:
- On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
- Under Options, click Tax Returns.
- In the
Xpress print settings area:
to modify the paper orientation you want to use, click Portrait or Landscape;
to modify the font size Personal Taxprep will use to print the table, select the size in the Font size box.
- Click OK.
