Use the Mapped Drives to Define the Network Locations
By default, Personal Taxprep uses the UNC paths (the format for a UNC path is: \\server\volume\directory\file) to define the network locations. If the configuration of your network requires the use of mapped drives (a mapped drive is a drive designated by a letter, i.e. G:\Clients) to define these locations, you can modify the format used.
To use the mapped drives to define the network locations, proceed as follows:
- On the Tools menu, click Options and Settings.
- Under Options, click Advanced.
- Select the Used mapped drives for network locations check box.
A message displays. Read carefully the provided information before continuing. - Click Yes to confirm.
- Click OK.
The next network locations you define in Personal Taxprep will include the letter assigned to the drive.
