Set the Properties for a Letter Template
The following three items make up the properties of a letter template:
- The name of the template;
- The description of the template; and
- The ability to link or not to link the template to a form (this could be a letter, invoice or label) available in the Form Manager.
The properties for the predefined templates cannot be modified, with the exception of the ability to link or not to link the template to a form available in the Form Manager.
Modify the letter template properties
To modify letter template properties, proceed as follows:
- In the left menu, click Letters and Labels.
- Click the template whose properties you want to modify.
- Click the
button. - To modify the name of the template, enter the new name in the Name box.
To modify the description of the template, enter the new description in the Details box. The description is displayed under the Details column in the Letters and Labels view. - To link the template to a form available in the Form Manager, select the form in the Link to box.
- Click OK.
Note: To change the description to French, edit the display language in the options and settings, and repeat this step.
Warning! When a new template is linked to a form, it is applied to all returns printed subsequently. Ensure that you thoroughly test the template before using it.
